The 2021 "It's a Breast Thing" Event

The community came together on October 5th to celebrate the 13th annual It’s a Breast Thing Event and the accomplishments from the 2020 Year of Giving! Although 2020 turned out to be a much different year than any of us expected so much was accomplished including awarding 111 grants to breast cancer patients in the Mid Michigan area.

It was a fantastic evening with the room buzzing with excitement and our guests loved once again information from the mixture of new and long-standing health related exhibitors as well as voting on and purchasing  from our very popular bra decorating contest! The theme this year for the bras was “A Moment in Time in History” and the bras were outstanding. The top 12 that were the winners from the guests votes will appear in the 2022 It’s a Breast Thing calendar. The educational program was “Breast Cancer: The Good Old Days & Now” with a comparison of what has happened in the medical community in regards to treating breast cancer.

The event also featured a mother and daughter who spoke to family involvement while a person is going through breast cancer. This is such a big and important part of the journey.

Bob Howe facilitated the live auction with a mixture of great items and also the ASK. Both were very successful because of the generosity of the guests! This is what makes awarding grants to breast cancer patients possible.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year on Tuesday October 4th for the next It’s a Breast Thing Event evening! A big thank you to all our sponsors, exhibitors, bra decorators and all our wonderful guests. It was great to come together again in support of local breast cancer patients and make a significant difference?
