The 2009 "It's a Breast Thing" Event

In 2009, "It's a Breast Thing" teamed with Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing Michigan to present two events. The first was an educational evening held at the Dawe Auditorium which featured a panel of physicians presenting "Everything You Want to Know About the Breast. Participating physicians were: Drs. Carol Slomski, Lee Colony, Lewis Jones, Deimante Tamkus and Linda Peterson. The panel took a woman through finding a lump in breast, biopsy, surgery, chemotherapy and endocrine therapy, reconstruction and the emotional psychological journey' that accompanies this. The question and answer session was moderated by Dr. Ray Demers. The panel answered many questions from the attendees. During the evening over 30 decorated bras were displayed and voted on by the attendees. Once again the winners were featured in the "It's a Breast Thing" Calendar. This year the calendar girls were all breast cancer survivors.
